Overview

The Cervical Cancer Care Initiative (CCCI) is implemented in five villages of Medchal-Malkajgiri district, Telangana. The program focuses on:

  • HPV vaccination for individuals aged 9–14 years (initially girls, later boys and young adults)
  • HPV screening for women aged 25–65 years
  • Examination, treatment, and follow-up for HPV-positive women

The initiative combines formative research, advocacy, and community engagement to improve vaccine acceptance and cervical cancer prevention.

Aim

To reduce the burden of cervical cancer through community awareness, early vaccination, screening, and follow-up care, ensuring equitable access in underserved communities.

  • Advocacy Materials: Develop tailored text and visual informational resources addressing community concerns.
  • Community Engagement: Conduct home visits to educate eligible individuals about HPV vaccination and address their concerns.

Current Status of the Project

As of now, formative research has been completed through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions, followed by thematic data analysis with key findings documented.
