Comprehensive Overview of Current Ophthalmic Conditions

SHARE INDIA and The Department of Ophthalmology, Mediciti Institute of Medical Sciences, successfully conducted a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program titled “Comprehensive Overview of Current Ophthalmic Conditions” on 17th November 2025.

The event brought together distinguished faculty, leading ophthalmologists, and eminent guests, marking a significant step toward academic enrichment, clinical excellence and potential collaboration.

The event was graced by the presence of the Dr. G. N. Rao, Founder-Chairman, L V PRASAD EYE INSTITUTE and Dr. Narsing Rao (Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California) Renowned Uvea Specialist, whose contributions and leadership continue to inspire advancements in modern ophthalmic care.

The program commenced with a Welcome Address by Dr. Y. Jaya Santhi Latha, Head of the Department of Ophthalmology, MIMS, and an insightful Inaugural Talk on “Systematic Approach to a Case of Uveitis” was delivered by Dr. S. Sravanthi, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, offering a structured, clinically relevant perspective for practitioners.

This was followed by a Guest Lecture on “Basics of Refractive Surgeries” by Dr. Atul Gupta, Professor, Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, India, who provided comprehensive updates and evolving trends in refractive surgical care.

An advanced session on “Screening for Diabetic Retinopathy Using Portable Digital Retinal Camera & AI Integration” was presented by the invited expert Dr. Padmaja Kumari Rani, Network Associate Director, Tele-Ophthalmology, L V PRASAD EYE INSTITUTE underscoring the evolving role of digital innovations and artificial intelligence in preventive ophthalmology.

The program concluded with a Panel Discussion on Emerging Trends in Ocular Diseases, featuring distinguished experts who shared evidence-based insights, clinical experiences, and future directions for patient-centered ophthalmic practice.
